All house owners who owns a Leasehold Residential Property in Negeri Sembilan can now convert to Freehold as mention by Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun.
This was one of the pledges made by Pakatan Harapan manifesto before the last general election.

There are a few terms and conditions to convert your Negeri Sembilan Property from Leasehold to Freehold. These are:
- Your property must be Residential Property that is occupied.
- Your title must be registered before 8 May 2018, which is before PRU-14
- Only Malaysian Citizen are entitle to apply. Permanent Residents or Company do not qualify to apply
- Each individual only have 1 quota to apply conversion from leasehold property to freehold property. Thus, if you have more than 1 property, you can only choose 1 to apply
- You need to have the Title (Geran) of the property on hand during submission of application
- This application of conversion is applicable for properties under 10,000 sq ft. For properties above 10,000sq ft, it will be view based on case by case basis.
- This applies to Leasehold Title of 99 years
- After conversion of Leasehold to Freehold, there will be a clause in your new title that states you cannot change ownership for 10 years. Thus, you will not be able to sell your property within 10 years from the conversion date
- There will be charges of RM50 for the process of application and RM1 per sq ft charges for the conversion
- You can apply at your nearest Pejabat Tanah in Negeri Sembilan
- The process is estimated to take about 6 months to 8 months
